In Sync

"Spending time near the ocean, or anywhere in nature, can
help us to synchronize our rhythms with nature's rhythms."
- Deepak Chopra, Power, Freedom and Grace.

Feeling the need to connect with nature, I packed up the family for a picnic at the beach Sunday evening.

We finished up our feast just in time to enjoy the drum circle, which gathers every week at our local beach.

Hula hoops and kiddos are aplenty...

...fresh tropical flowers are passed around...

...and the circle is filled with all kinds of dancing.

Check out my little chick groovin' to the beat (sorry about the end of the video).

When we left, I was covered with sand, flushed from the sun and exhilarated from a true feast for the senses. The ocean helped me reconnect to the rhythm of the season, while the rhythm of the drums created a powerful restorative energy that helped balance my body & spirit. Right now, I am in sync.

Such a beautiful evening! I love evenings and moments like that.

We have a drum circle in the city near our home. I would love to take my little but our's starts very late into the evening - past her bedtime. I wish we had one by the beach. It sounds so enjoyable!
